Freedom, engineered.
Uhuru is the Swahili word for freedom. We exist to give that word concrete form — as expressways, trade corridors and the connections that let economies breathe.
An African developer with international standards.
Uhuru Infrastructure is an infrastructure development company focused on large-scale transport infrastructure across East and Central Africa. We work at the hardest and most valuable stage of the infrastructure journey: turning a strategically vital route on a map into a fully prepared, bankable project that governments can endorse and investors can finance.
Working alongside ministries of works and transport, national road authorities, and internationally experienced engineering consultants, we prepare our projects to the standards global lenders expect — comprehensive feasibility studies, AASHTO-benchmarked preliminary designs, rigorous traffic and economic evaluation, and complete environmental, social and resettlement safeguards.
Infrastructure that pays for itself in lives improved.
To originate and develop bankable infrastructure that lowers the cost of doing business, connects markets, and improves the daily lives of the communities it serves.
An Africa connected by world-class infrastructure.
A continent where distance is no longer the price of opportunity — where every producer can reach a market, and every family can reach a school, a hospital, a future.
What we stand on.
01Integrity
We develop to international standards — technical, environmental, social and financial — and we publish the evidence.
02Partnership
We work hand-in-hand with governments, lenders, communities and world-class consultants. PPP is in our DNA.
03Impact
Every project must move the needle — jobs, trade, safety, access. We measure what we build.
04Excellence
Feasibility before finance. Design before construction. Rigour at every stage of development.
05Stewardship
We safeguard the environment and treat project-affected communities with fairness and dignity.
The partnership model.
Infrastructure of this scale is never built alone. Uhuru sits at the centre of a partnership between the public interest and private capital.
Governments & Authorities
We align every project with national development priorities, working with ministries of works and transport and national road authorities from concept through concession.
Investors & Lenders
We de-risk projects with complete, internationally benchmarked documentation — the feasibility, safeguards and economics that make capital confident.
Communities
Through consultation, fair compensation frameworks and local employment, the people who live along our corridors are partners in the project — never afterthoughts.
